Steamed Fish with Black Bean Paste

Fermented black beans add a delightful savouriness to this healthy and delicious dish.

Preparation time:
25 minutes

1 whole seabass, cleaned and gutted
2 tsps Handflower Brand Black Bean Paste
1 clove garlic, minced
Dashes of Handflower Brand Soy Sauce
A little sesame oil
Scallions, if preferred


  1. Pat dry cleaned fish and score by making incisions across.
  2. Heat garlic and bean paste in a saucepan till fragrant.
  3. Spread mixture from step 1 with a little sesame oil over fish, and garnish with scallions. Steam with closed lids for 10 to 15 minutes on high heat (depending on size of fish) or until done.
  4. Remove lid and drizzle over with Handflower Brand Soy Sauce. Serve immediately.
